The Goodwood 9 Hours, August 16, 1952. The Aston Martin DB3 driven by the team of Eric Thompson and Reg Parnell leads the Ferrari 225 Sport of Tom Cole and Graham Whitehead through St. Mary's on the back of thecircuit. The Aston was subsequently destroyed in a raging pit fire while the Ferrari came through second overall.

Juan-Manuel Fangio at the wheel of the V-16 BRM F1 car at Goodwood in 1953. You can see the grabndstand in this image which we'll need to recreate. It does appear to be mostly scaffolding and corrugated iron which is good.

In 1953 a brick chicane was added before the pits to slow cars down. Note spectators sitting on the wall between grandstands. There is a similar structure there now which can be removed as we are supposedly in 1951.

The Sussex International Trophy Race; Goodwood, June 2, 1952. Perhaps Klemantaski's most famous picture, this photo is of Mike Hawthorn really trying hard in a 2-liter Cooper-Bristol. Hawthorn's courageous performance in this uncompetitive F.2 car (entered for him by his father, Leslie Hawthorn, owner of the famous Tourist Trophy Garage in Farnham near London) created Hawthorn's early reputation and did much to earn him his first'ride' with Ferrari.

Stirling Moss on a Vespa scooter, Goodwood, April 1952. With Peter Collins nearest to him, and Harry Schell. Peter Collins partnered Moss in the HWM team (Hersham & Walton Motors) in the 1952 season. Harry Schell raced Formula 2 machinery for HWM in the early 1950s.

This is a great photo of the grandstands empty. This helps us to understand the structure; purely scaffolding with timber plank seating, corrugated iron roof & rear wall and canvass sides.
