Garage Reference Images
Read More1. Although clearly American, tonally this is the best reference for us on a dressing level; it's not a complete mess, there is some order, especially on the shelves. There is also great character here. This photo does demonstrate that we should be looking for a long/deep garage location as the camera and Alex combined is over 4 foot long and we will be shooting on 16:9. The location we use may well not have a window as seen here on the left. We will need to dress in some interesting light sources, some built in under shelves. Consideration will need to be given to the texture and reflective quality of surfaces as seen in the shiny stool seat and the very matt wooden peg board.
2. The walls are too bright in this image, we should stay away from white walls, opting for darker brick and wood tones so it feels like a darker warmer space. The dressing level is good in this image. I do like the photos on the wall, we could put photos of the father at motorbike events from the 80s, maybe dress in a small award or two, as if his fathers sporting and mechanical achievements are inspiring his son to join the army.
